1. What is Infoping?

Infoping is a mobile communication platform. Every message is sent with one of our predefined reply options (or your custom created buttons). Recipients can provide instant feedback on a message, you will see who have read the message, what they answered, and if they left a comment.

Infoping allows you to easily provide information or questions to both individual recipients and groups of recipients.

By setting different permissions, you control who can send and receive messages and who can manage the groups you created.

Infoping gives you better decision making and helps you save time.

1.1 Get started with Infoping!

Download Infoping at Google Play or AppStore.

2. Smart sms

Users that have not installed the app can receive all the information by Smart Sms. The sms text includes a link to a mobile friendly website. There the recipient can see the message in its entirety and click the reply buttons, just like in the app.

The message in the sms itself is shortened, which means that only one sms message is sent per recipient even though the sender wrote a longer text.

3. Messages, groups and accounts

We recommend that you enable push notifications for Infoping. Push notifications is required to get the best possible experience of Infoping and not risk missing new messages.

3.1 Push notifications

See 5. Activate push notifications

3.2 The messages menu

When you register your phone for Infoping, a private account is automatically created with the name you entered. All private groups you create and all private messages you send and receive, are collected here.

If you received automated system messages, they will end up in the group named "Private Inbox".

In the list of groups, you will see how many members and messages there are in each group. The order of the groups is determined by the date when the group last received a message. If you have unanswered messages, you will see a little box with a number on the logo of each group.

At the top left you will find a menu button, and in the upper right corner you will see the "New Message" button (See 3.5 Send new message). If you don't have sender permissions in any of the groups, you can not see the "New Message" button. (You can always send messages from your private account).

3.2.1 List of accounts

In the center at the top, you will see the name of the Infoping account you are currently in. Tapping on the arrow or account name will show a list of all the accounts you are a member of. At the bottom of the list you can create a new Infoping account.

We recommend that you create a new account if you plan to use Infoping in an organisation.

The list of accounts

3.2.2 Create a new account

Tap "Create new account" when the list of accounts is deposited as above and follow the instructions in the app. You will have to enter the account name, email and logo. Logotype is optional, you can also select one later.

Once you have created your account, you can create your account's first group. See 6.2 Create group for more information.

3.3 The stack

If you go into the app when you have unanswered messages the stack immediately pops up. The stack can be described as a collection of all of your unanswered messages. This function is like going through a pile of unanswered mail.

In the stack, you can answer the messages by pressing the reply buttons. You can also choose to snooze a message, and be reminded of it at a later time.

If you choose to click away the stack using the X at the top right, it will be shown furthest down when you are in "Messages", "Saved messages" and "My sent messages" as long as there are unanswered messages.

The background colour and logo can be customized with your organisation's logo and colours, just like the smart SMS. The animation below shows an example of of 3 messages that are answered in the stack.

3.4 The message feed in a group

If you click on a group from the "Messages" menu, you can see the message feed for that group. If you have something unanswered in that group, you can answer the message directly into the group's message feed. This means that you don't have to answer the message in the stack.

If you see a message you want to save, tap the pin on the top left on the message. Then you can see that message under the menu "Saved messages". See section 3.6 Saved messages

The sender decides who can access statistics for the message. When you have answered the message, you can always see a statistical summary at the bottom of the message box. If you have access to detailed statistics, you see an arrow to the right of the summary.

See section 3.7 Statistics for more detailed information about the statistics of Infoping.

You can delete a message by using the standard method for your phone (swipe from right to left on an iPhone, and press and hold to delete a message on an Android). The message only disappears for you. Other recipients can still see the message.

3.5 Send a new message

If you are a member of a group where you have permission to send messages, you can create a pre-adressed message to the group by using the "New message"-button on the top right, when you are in the message feed.

If you use the "New message" button when you are in the group feed (where you can see all the groups in the account), you have to address the message yourself. Click to the right of "To:" to get a list of groups you can send messages to. If you have many groups in the list, you can use the filter box to find a group more easily. If the "New Message" button is greyed out, you do not have permission to send messages to any of the groups on that account. You can always send private messages on your private account.

When you have found the group you want to send a message to, tap on the group's name. There is also an option at this stage to click the icon to the right of the group's name to get a list of users in that group. If you want more information about a user, you can click the three dots to the right of the user's name and select "User details". That will show you the information that is listed in the user profile".

Click cancel at the top left to get back to where you can select a group. Click the group you want to send a message to and then click where it says "Write your message here" to start writing your message.

In the example image below it says "INFORMATION" at the bottom. That means that your message will be sent without reply buttons. You can swipe from right to left to see the five most recently used reply options, or press the + sign to see all the available reply options. See section 3.8 Reply options for an explanation of all the different reply buttons and options you can create in Infoping.

If you press the cog wheel at the bottom left in the example image, you get to the "Message settings" view. See section 3.9 Message settings for an explanation of all the message settings.

To attach an image to the message, you click the camera icon and choose to either take a new picture or attach an existing one.

The little watch followed by 365d indicates that it is possible to reply to the message for 365 days after it was sent. This can be set under "Message settings".

The small figure shows how many recipients the message will be sent to.

The letter C shows how many characters there are in the message.

SMS shows how many sms messages that will be sent (a premium feature that is set under "Message settings"). See section 3.9

You can hide the keyboard with the keyboard icon.

3.6 Saved messages

You can view all your saved messages under the menu "Saved messages".

3.7 Statistics

Infoping includes the option to view statistics of how recipients have replied to a message. There are two levels of statistics. Everyone can see the first level of statistics as soon as the message has been replied to. The second level of detailed statistics is determined by permission; it is the sender of the message that decides who has access to the detailed statistics.

The access to detailed statistics is set under message settings and the subheading Advanced (see section 3.9 Message settings)

In the image below, the first level of statistics is shown right under the message. If you have access to detailed statistics, you can press the arrow on the right of the message to view the detailed statistics.

Here is an example of detailed statistics with stars as the reply option. It is also possible to click each star level to see the names of the recipients that gave that level of stars as a reply.

3.8 Reply options

When you send messages in Infoping, you can select different reply options (buttons) for your message. It is also possible to create your own customised reply buttons. You can see which reply option is selected at the bottom of the "Send new message" view. See section 3.5 Send new message for more information on new messages. In the below example, you can see that the smiley reply option has been selected.

As a sender, it is important to consider how you formulate the message to ensure that the text matches the selected reply option.

If you press the + sign to the right of the smileys, you get a list with other reply options. The basic reply options are:

You select the reply option you want by clicking on it.

3.8.1 Create your own reply options

By pressing the + sign at the top right in the "Reply buttons" view as above, you can create your own customised reply options with text of your choosing. After pressing the + sign, you get to the "Create reply options" view as seen below. You create your own reply options by following the instructions on the screen and then press next. If you have any questions during the process of creating your own reply options, you can press the grey question mark to see an explanation of the available options on the screen.

Buttons/Check boxes
You create your own buttons that the recipients can choose from. You can decide if the recipients will be able to select one or more options at a later time (the multiple choice option has check boxes instead of buttons).

Numerical value
You set an interval in which the recipients can select a number. With this option you can view the mean value, median and sum.

Set a date
You choose a number of dates. The recipients can then reply with a Yes, (Yes)* or No to each date. You get a compilation of how many answered Yes to each date. *(Yes) means "Yes but preferably not".

When you are finished with your reply option, you are returned to the "reply buttons" view. In the list, click the reply option you just created to select it and get back to "New message".

3.9 Message settings

Under delivery type, you have 6 different alternatives to choose from when deciding how the message will be sent.

*smart sms, the text is truncated so only one sms text message is sent, a link to the message is attached so the recipient can read the message in its entirety and press the reply buttons. See section 2 Smart sms for more information.

Allow comment - Turn on this setting if you want the recipients to be able to comment on the message you sent. The comments are shown in the statistics.

End time - Set a date/time when the time to reply to the message runs out.

Reminders after sent - Send a reminder a certain amount of time after the message was sent (only applies to those who have not replied). The reminder is sent as a push notification.

Reminders before end time - Send a reminder that the time to reply to the message is running out (only applies to the recipients that have not replied). The reminder is sent as a push notification.

Reminders are only sent to the users that have the app installed.

This setting is only possible if you selected "Reply Yes first" as a reply option.

Show everyone who has replied Yes - All recipients can see who has replied Yes first

How many should be able to reply? - Decide how many should be able to reply Yes (everyone can reply Yes, but only x are counted as if they replied first).

See detailed statistics - Decide who will be able to see the statistics page

Reply yourself - Enable this if you want to be able to press the reply buttons yourself (and be included in the statistics), even if you are not a recipient in the group you are sending to.

Push on reply - Enable this if you want to receive a push notification every time someone presses the reply buttons.

Press the button to save the settings you have made on this page for all future messages.

If you only press "save" on the top right, the settings will only apply to the message you are currently working on.

4.2 Phone number and name

In the same view you can also see your phone number and name. It is not possible to change the phone number, if you have changed your phone number you have to re-register the app and make sure that your new number is added to your old groups. You can change your name. In the next field, you can add some information about yourself. Don't forget to save the changes you make on the top right.

4.3 Write something about yourself

Here you can write something about yourself. Don't forget to save the changes you make on the top right.

4.4 Language settings

Here are the app’s language settings. Click the row to select.

4.5 Confirm web login

When you log in to the web page you open the Infoping-app, go to My Account and press "CONFIRM WEB LOGIN" to approve the login.

5. Activate push notifications

You should allow the Infoping-app to receive push notifications so you don't miss any important messages.

Push notifications are managed in Settings>Notifications>Infoping. Select Banners or Notifications. Turn on the Badge App Icon. Turn on Show in the Notification Centre. Turn on Show on locked screen.

When the app is installed, push notifications are automatically activated. Push notifications are managed in Settings>Apps/Program manage>Infoping>Show messages. The settings might be called different things on different Android phones.

6. Manage groups and users

6.1 Groups, accounts and permissions

Anyone who wants to use Infoping to send messages to multiple recipients must create a group. If you plan to use Infoping in an organisation, we recommend that you start by creating a new Infoping account for that organisation. See 3.2.2 Create new account.

It is also possible to create subgroups. Go to the group where you want to have a subgroup and tap "Create subgroup" in the bottom right corner. Groups and subgroups may be useful if you want to mirror your org chart in Infoping.

Every member of a group can have the following permissions:

Remember that the Administrator and Sender permissions are carried down to subgroups. The permission Receiver is not carried down to subgroups.

If you are going to add multiple groups or users, we recommend that you log in to the web interface on the web page at your computer. See section 7.1 Log in on

It is also possible to integrate Infoping with your existing business system through our API. Contact us for more information.

6.2 Create group

When you are in the "Messages" menu on an account, tap "Create group" in the bottom right, enter the group name and click OK.

You will now see the group's settings. At Administrators and Members headings you can add, delete and control permissions for each member. In the example below, the group name is "Demo". The group has three members (se 6.3 Add a member to a group ). To save your changes, tap save in the top right corner.

6.3 Add users to a group

To add a user or administrator, tap "Add admin" or "Add member". In effect, it does not matter which of the lables you use, all permissions can be added or removed either way. But if you use "Add admin", the person automatically becomes an administrator and recipient, if you tap "Add member" the person is only a recipient by default. The administrators are seen under both headings, the reason why we have a separate heading for administrators is to make it easier to see who has permission to administer groups.

After you have tapped "add", there are three different ways to add users (members, contacts, manually). In the first view "members", all existing users in the account is listed. If you tap the right arrow you can add contacts from your phone, and in the last view on the right end you can manually enter a phone number and name for the user you want to add.

If you see several people with the same name, you can see who is who by clicking the three dots furthest to the right. Then tap "User details".

To select a person, tap the name to make a tick in the round circle. Then click "Select" on the top right to add the user to the group. It is possible to select several people at the same time and then press select.

Add users from members

Add users from contacts in your phone

Add users manually

6.3.1 Edit a member of a group

In the picture below there are a number of members in the group "Matchtider". To edit a member's permissions, tap the three gray dots to the right of the member's name. The members who had a small Infoping icon are senders in the group. If the icon is gray or if the name is gray, it means that the premission is inherited from the parent group. A member in talic has no permissions at all.

Edit group

In the picture below you can choose which permissions the member should have in the group. You can also delete the member from the group. Save the changes by tapping Save in the upper right corner.

Edit member

6.5 Change logotype for a group

To change the logo go through the "Messages" menu and tap "Edit Account" at the bottom left. Then tap on the existing logo and follow the instructions in the app.

Recommended size of the logotype is 300 * 300 pixels and the format should be jpg or png. The logotype is carried down to any subgroups, but it is possible to give a subgroup a logo of it's own.

6.7 Create subgroup

If you want to create a subgroup to an existing group, go to "Messages" through the menu and tap the group you want your new group to be subordinate to. Then press "Create subgroup" at the bottom right. This way you can easily reflect your organisational chart.

6.8 Edit existing group

If you want to edit an existing group, go to "Messages" through the menu and open the group you want to edit. Tap "Edit group" down on the left. You have to be administrator of the group to be able to edit it.

7. Infoping desktop admin

NOTE: The web interface is updated. New helpdocument will be available shortly.

You can use your Infoping account on our web page at your desktop. Here you can access a web version of the Infoping app where you can read, reply to and send new messages right there on the web. You can also manage more advanced account operations in the web interface, such as create and delete groups, and add large lists of users to groups.

7.1 Log in on

On our web page go to the menu and to LOG IN. You log in with your mobile phone number, enter the number and press SEND. The next step is to verify the login using the Infoping app. This is done with the button CONFIRM WEB LOGIN which can be found under My Account in the app.

7.2 Account settings

Every top group (a group that is not subordinate to any other group) is connected to a customer account of its own. As a customer at Infoping, this is the account you use to set invoice information and other things that have to do with your company or organisation.

All users of the top group with Administrator permission (see section 7.5 User permissions in the web interface) can access the customer account where invoice information and more can be edited.

7.2.1 Country code

Sets which country code is added automatically to the users' mobile phone number, if nothing else was stated when you added the users to the group.

7.2.2 Language

Sets the standard language for features such as Smart Sms. Applies to all groups that belong to the customer account.

7.2.3 Sms from-name

Sets the from-name for sms messages that are sent. The from-name applies to all groups under the account.

7.2.4 Sms footer

A footer is added to all sms messages that are sent from groups under your account.

7.3 Handle groups in the web interface

7.3.1 Create new group

Click "+Add subgroup" on the panel to the left. The group you create will automatically become a subgroup to the group you have marked. If you want to create a new top group you must create a new account, this is done by clicking "+Create new account".

7.3.2 Change name of existing group

Click on the group you want to edit in the tree to the left. Click "Edit group" above the group's name in the middle panel. Type the new name in the field under "Group name", then press "Save group".

7.3.3 Delete group

Mark the group you want to delete, then press "Delete group" in the middle panel.

7.4 Add users

Mark the group you want to add users to. Click "+Add users". Enter mobile phone number and name in the format "0701234567 Name". You can add multiple numbers at the same time by entering them in separate rows in the text field.

Tip! You can copy users from existing lists, for example from Excel or other external documents, and then paste them into the text field where you add users. What you have to keep in mind when you add multiple numbers at the same time, is that every user has to be separated by a line break.

A country code will be added to the number automatically, unless otherwise specified. You specify a country code of your own by entering it as a phone number, like "+47123456 name". Numbers that do not start with a 0 or + are not added, lines with such numbers are ignored.

Caution! Remember that the first zero in the number should be included if you want the system to add the standard country code on its own. If you add your country code by yourself starting with a + sign, remember that the first zero should be removed from the number.

7.5 Desktop user permissions

The tick boxes to the right of each user are permissions.

= Administrator (to the left) decides if the user can administer the group. The administration can be done in Manage Groups on the app or in the web interface on

= Sender (in the middle) decides if the user can send messages to the group. The groups you have permission to send messages to are available when you create a new message. The button Send New Message can’t be seen in the app if you don’t have permission to send to any group.

= Recipient (to the right) decides if the user should receive messages that are sent to the group. This permission is automatically activated when you add a new user to a group.

Users with the Administrator and Sender permissions are carried down to subgroups. Users carried down from groups above are shown in grey text. It is not possible to change the Administrator or Sender permissions of these carried down users. It is not possible to delete them either. You have to manage these users from the above group where they were added from before.

7.6 Delete numbers from group

All the way down to the right below the list of numbers there is a trash. Click it and then tick the numbers you want to delete from the group. Click the red button DELETE NUMBERS to delete the marked numbers from the group.

Note that it is not possible to delete numbers that are carried down, these have to be removed in the above group where they were added to begin with.

7.7 Read, reply to and send new messages from the web

Click "Infoping Web Interface", on the top of the panel on the left. This takes you to the web version of the Infoping app. Here you can read and reply to your messages, you can also send new messages, just like in the Infoping app.

You can also click "Send new message to the group" in the middle panel, when you have a group marked. Then a new page opens with the web app's Send New form where the group you have marked is pre-addressed in the message.

7.8 Open group

An Infoping group can be open for users to join or leave on their own, using an sms message code.

When the group is open, anyone who wants to become a user can do so by sending an sms message to 71611 with the text "PING [sms code] name". To leave the group, they send "END [sms code]".

In the web interface you can open a group and decide on an sms code by clicking "Edit group" above the group name in the middle panel when you have a group selected. The sms code you enter has to be available for you to be able to save it.

It is clearly visible that a group is open by the green sign that is shown when that is the case.

7.8.1 Leave an open group

Open groups allow users to leave the group on their own if they want to.

This can be done by sending an sms message to 71611 with the text "END [sms code]".

It is also possible to leave a group by clicking "De-register from this group" in the footer of a Smart sms. See section 2 Smart sms
